Every building system Dosteen supplies comes with a CSI MasterFormat-compliant specification section. Three-part format, correct section numbers, and UAE and Oman compliance references included as standard.

Part 1
Defines the scope of the specification section and sets the compliance framework for the project team. For Dosteen systems, this includes the applicable BS EN and NFPA standards, UAE Fire and Life Safety Code references, submittal requirements covering shop drawings and product data, and quality assurance requirements. Dubai Civil Defence and Abu Dhabi Civil Defence approval documentation requirements are named explicitly - the UAE-specific detail that generic international templates do not include.
Part 2
Sets out exactly what product is being specified - material standards, performance thresholds, fabrication requirements, and manufacturer qualifications. For Dosteen systems, this includes fire rating classifications, wind load criteria, operational cycle ratings, finish specifications, and hardware requirements. All performance criteria are referenced against UAE and Oman compliance standards, not generic international defaults.
Part 3
The section main contractors and FM teams rely on most. It covers installation method, inspection hold points, field quality control procedures, and project closeout requirements. For Dosteen systems, closeout documentation includes Civil Defence commissioning records, as-built submissions, and maintenance manuals - the documents that matter at hand over and throughout the building's operational life.

Architects & Spec Writers
Incorporate Dosteen's three-part specification directly into the project specification package at Design Development or Tender stage, replacing the need to write from scratch. Product standards, performance criteria, submittal requirements, and UAE and Oman compliance clauses are pre-populated. Minor edits are still required for project name, applicable Civil Defence authority, and specific performance parameters.

MEP Consultants
Reference the specification when coordinating Dosteen's systems with MEP scope, confirming activation interfaces for fire curtains with fire alarm systems, access control head-ends, and utility connection requirements.

Main Contractors
At tender stage, use the specification to confirm product standards, installation requirements, and closeout obligations, reducing clarification RFIs before award. During construction, the Part 3 Execution section guides the handover documentation package.

Procurement Managers
Use the specification to confirm that Dosteen's products meet the performance criteria, Civil Defence approval, and installation standard written into the project specification. This supports supplier qualification and helps reject non-compliant substitutions during tender.

Developers & Project Owners
Use for product approval and variation control during construction to prevent substitution of non-compliant systems, and as a defect liability and maintenance reference after handover. The Part 3 Execution closeout requirements include maintenance manuals and Civil Defence commissioning documentation.

Most international CSI specification templates are written to generic standards and leave the project's specification team to add local compliance references separately. Dosteen's specifications include the UAE and Oman regulatory references in Part 1 General as standard, because we operate under these codes every day and our specifications reflect that. For UAE projects, this covers the UAE Fire and Life Safety Code (MOI), Dubai Civil Defence (DCD) and Abu Dhabi Civil Defence (ACD) approval requirements, and relevant Dubai Municipality building regulations. For Oman projects, Royal Oman Police (ROP) Civil Defence requirements and Oman Municipality building regulations are included. International standards referenced include BS EN 1634, BS EN 12604, NFPA 80, and ISO 9001:2015.
Dosteen's specifications follow MasterFormat 2018, the current edition in active use across UAE and Oman construction projects. If your project operates on an earlier edition such as MasterFormat 2004 or uses the legacy 16-division format common on older government and infrastructure schemes, contact our engineering team. We will reformat the specification to match your project's edition.
